We are currently searching for an experienced IN-ROOM DINING & BANQUET SERVER to join our team on a full-time basis.

 

Position Description

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the IN-ROOM DINING & BANQUET SERVER will make the most positive impact on guest experiences in In-Room Dining and Banquets through consistent application of Shangri-La’s core practices, maximizing the balance between Colleague, Guest and Owner satisfaction.

Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way

Check for quality and presentation to designated F&B standards for all items prior to delivering/serving

Deliver food to guest rooms, attending to food, beverage and other service needs as appropriate and ensure accurate reporting of charges to guest folios

Ensure food and beverage is presented in accordance with hotel SOPs to guests, providing a detailed explanation of their order and ensuring set-up is to the preference to the guest

Deliver hotel amenities to guest rooms, as assigned

Remove soiled dishes, linen, silverware, IRD carts from guest rooms and service areas and replenish items, as required

Participate in opening/closings, setting up service trollies, trays, and ensure overall service ambiance, cleanliness, appropriate setting and presentation

Replenish and stock the IRD station – ensuring dishware, glassware, condiments, cutlery, amenities are maintained.

Resolve food quality and service complaints at earliest and first point of customer contact, ultimately providing outstanding customer service

Maintain current knowledge of wines, other beverages, local restaurants, food trends and industry practices

Set-Up, maintain and stock the Colleague breakroom, as assigned

Apply the necessary precautions with regards to food safety and hygiene standards

Review and understand BEO or Event Plan at the beginning of each shift to ensure banquet rooms are set as per the customer request.

Read and execute specifications listed on the Banquet Event Orders, paying close attention to special needs/requests.

Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order.

Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts.

Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.

Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

Attend tables by removing and separating tableware, plate ware, glassware, and flatware.

Set up/tear down function rooms in accordance with BEO requirements, setting tables, chairs, dancefloor, stations.

Undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Education & Skill Requirements

  • Previous service knowledge and training is required.
  • Minimum 2-year work experience in banquets, room service, restaurant service is preferred.
  • Flexible availability – required to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as required.
  • Current Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certification is required.

Salary/Wage

$20.36 + gratuities
