Job Description

Represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay by working with all hotel personnel to ensure every guest experience superior customer care. Responsibilities include registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, and ensuring the guests have a pleasant stay and smooth checkout.
• Maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments.
• Possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department. Takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Knows cancellation procedures.
• Knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
• Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms.
• Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms.
• Coordinates guest room maintenance work with the engineering and maintenance division.
• Uses persuasive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
• Knows daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
• Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
• Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
• Processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions.
• Maintains customers’ privacy.
• Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

This role requires a reliable individual who can provide outstanding guest service while maintaining the operational standards of our hotel. Candidates must be legally able to work full-time hours. Unfortunately, those on student visas are not eligible due to work-hour restrictions.

Responsibilities:

Greet and assist guests with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
Manage check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
Handle reservations and cancellations via phone, online, or in person.
Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
Ensure accurate processing of guest payments, including cash handling and credit card transactions.
Maintain confidentiality of guest information and follow proper data security protocols.
Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages when necessary.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest requests are fulfilled.
Uphold hotel policies and procedures, including safety and emergency protocols.
Perform end-of-shift audits and balance cash drawer daily.
Assist in maintaining the lobby and front desk area’s cleanliness and presentation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous hotel or customer service experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with front office equipment (computers, phone systems, and POS software).
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
Knowledge of proper credit, check cashing, and cash handling procedures.
Familiarity with the local area and events is a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
Basic knowledge of emergency procedures and safety protocols.
