About Us
The John Howard Society of the Central and South Okanagan operates a social enterprise cafe called One Cup at a Time. It operates year round, offering coffees, other beverages and a variety of sandwiches, meals-to-go and snacks. During half of the year it serves as a training ground for the One Cup at a Time employment program, funded by the Government of Canada. We provide life skills learning and hands-on training in the cafe over a six month period of time. By the end, the program participants are fully ready and able to take on employment in the hospitality sector.
