Workshop Description

This interactive session will explain what safety culture is and how it influences safety performance.

Participants will engage in discussions and practical activities to learn what they can do (individually and collectively), to build a more robust road safety culture in their organization.

The presentation examines the components of safety culture and most importantly the interactions between a strong road safety culture and performance. Participants will learn how all employees can contribute to a safety “fabric” that acts to prevent motor vehicle crashes and the associated losses. Participants will explore how they can apply those ideas in individual and group exercises.

Who Should Attend

The workshop is for owners, managers, supervisors, health and safety practitioners, Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee members and others who have responsibility for making decisions and developing programs to keep workers safe on BC roads.

You are encouraged to send one or two representatives from your organization. To help you develop and improve your road safety program, Road Safety at Work will provide each organization with three hours of follow-up consultation with a road safety specialist.
