Do you have a passion for food? As part of the culinary team you will assist with line production monitoring food quality and presentation, and ensuring proper sanitation standards are met.

This position requires a highly motivated professional Cook, who can work with minimal supervision.  The Cook will demonstrate abilities to work alone in a highly organized environment and produces high quality meals. 

• Responsible for line production including team member meals and banquet meals
• Ideas and input into menu development on a daily basis
• Test foods to ensure proper preparation and temperature
• Monitor food quality and sanitation standards daily
• Ensure proper rotation of meats and fish
• Responsible for daily fridge organization
• Record daily notes in the Kitchen log (any issues in the Restaurant or problems with food)
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
• Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
• Able to assist with other tasks if necessary such as prep or dishwashing
• Flexibility with shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays

• Must have minimum 2 years cooking experience-restaurant or hotel experience an asset
• Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule - shifts will be varied
• Must have the ability to communicate in english
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Required demonstrated abilities with organization, team work and leadership
• Able to foster and maintain effective and respectful workingr relationships
• Knowledge of stocks, soups and sauces required
• Must have previous Garde Manger and banquet experience
• Is able to stand for long periods of time
• Finger/hand dexterity
• Able to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods
• Be in good physical condition- able to bend, stoop, squat, push and pull carts
• Must follow established Communicable Disease Prevention
