JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Cook Apprentice (NOC 63200)

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, full-time, permanent

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Wage: $16.25 – $18.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

No of Positions: 2

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work area
• Ensure the food quality is outstanding every time

·       Ensure work areas, utensils, and production equipment are in a clean and sanitized state

·       Ensure safe handling food procedures are followed, as well as health and safety policies are maintained

• May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• May hire and train kitchen staff.
• Develop the ability to prepare and cook French-Italian cuisine/special dishes offered by the restaurant

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education: No formal education required

Experience: Cooking experience would be considered an asset, but not necessary. We will train.

Language: English

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Attention to Detail
