Kumsheen is looking for a Bartender/Cocktail Creator to join our team of energetic, adventurous, and friendly staff. This is a great opportunity to work & live in one of the most beautiful areas in BC, at an incredible family-run adventure resort.

About the position:

Cocktail Creators at Kumsheen work under the direction of the Head Server in Kumsheen’s Cutting Board Restaurant and in the Poolside Gazebo Bar. The Cutting Board Restaurant provides a friendly atmosphere, remarkable food, and memorable service to our resort guests. The Poolside Gazebo Bar opens just before our rafting trips return to the Resort for the day and most rafting guests like to visit the bar to unwind and reflect on their day of adventure. It’s a very positive environment.

While the Gazebo Bar does not open for the season until the beginning of July, the Kumsheen Resort including the Cutting Board Restaurant open in May. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Creating cocktails, pouring wine, opening canned and bottled beverages in both the Cutting Board Restaurant and the Poolside Gazebo Bar
• Track inventory for liquor and beverage supplies
• Keep Gazebo Bar and Cutting Board Restaurant stocked
• Maintain all areas of the poolside Gazebo Bar, ensuring organization and extremely high levels of cleanliness
• Create regular drink specials for the Restaurant and Gazebo Bar
• Ensure a positive, relaxing environment at the Gazebo Bar
• Daily cash reconciliation for the Gazebo Bar

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Previous experience in Hospitality/Tourism preferred
• Previous experience as a bartender or a server preferred
• Receptive to feedback
• Able to work well individually and as part of a team
• Ability to multitask and prioritize to achieve efficient service
• Good knowledge of wine & wine pairing
• Good knowledge of mixology
• Second language an asset
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including split shifts
• Must have Serving it Right certificate or be willing to obtain one
