Position Summary – The Breakfast Bar Attendant is responsible for ensuring the quality of food and beverage items provided as well as the cleanliness of the Breakfast Bar.

• Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining the buffet with proper fresh food at all times, in a clean and presentable manner.

• Ensures all foods are handled and stored safely in accordance with established health codes.

• Operates all kitchen equipment as needed for food preparation.

• Maintains a clean and safe working environment adhering to all health and safety standards.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining the buffet with proper fresh food at all times, in a clean and presentable manner.

• Always searching for ways to “wow” the customer, is proactive in dealing with the guest, never answering a request with “no”

• Provides service to the meeting room when meeting in session

• Greet all customers with enthusiasm, building relationships with customers in an appropriate way by using personality and positive attitude

• Provide a high level of professional service; presenting the food and beverage in a manner which exceeds the guest’s expectations

• Replenish all items for freshness and to have adequate supply of items available to guests

• Cleans Breakfast Bar, Lifestyle Lounge, banquet room and back of the house areas, as well as completing assigned cleaning projects in a timely fashion.

• Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and in serving areas

• Ensures all foods are handled and stored safely in accordance with established health codes.

• Wash, peel and cut items for the guest offering

• Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, scour pots and pans

• Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment

• Receive, unpack, rotate and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas

• Operates all kitchen equipment as needed for food preparation.

• Adhere to specific cleaning checklists as well as an overall commitment to general cleanliness

• Stocks fridges and equipment, organizing all storage areas and kitchen daily

• Maintains a clean and organized work environment adhering to all health and safety standards. Monitors and records daily temperature of dishwashing and cooling equipment.

• Reports problems with equipment, elevators and set up to the manager on duty

• Maintains inventory ensuring adequate supply of various items and that the storage area is neat and organized

• Remove all garbage and adhere to recycling policies.

• Sweep and mop floors

• Vacuums room and returns equipment to storage areas in an organized fashion

• Handle and store cleaning products. Be aware of all chemicals used in any of the cleaners/tools used on the job and utilize following safety guidelines, including appropriate storage.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• 1 year of customer service experience

• Kitchen equipment and food storage experience an asset

Physical requirements

• Able to lift and carry approximately 25 lbs

• Bend, stand, reach for extended periods of time, extensively throughout the day

• Good organization and communication skills

• Works with minimal supervision

• Able to tolerate a schedule where the weekly hours may fluctuate by season. Weekend shifts will be required.

• Salary/Wage: Starting at $20/Hour
