As a Chef de Partie at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing, you will work under the direction of the Chef and Sous Chef.  This position’s role is to execute the high quality food production and service provided from the resort culinary team.  This position has a wide scope of culinary duties throughout its working day and offers a diverse experience.

JOB HIGHLIGHTS:

• Works under the direction of the Culinary Leadership to execute meal services and prepare high quality menu items.
• Ensures adherence to all culinary standards set out by Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing leadership.
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, and for special events
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Works under the Sous Chef’s to perform food prep and cooks on the line.
• Ensures proper handling of all food products, including reducing waste.
• Ensures a great guest experience is created by their work within the culinary team.
• Maintains set standards around Health & Safety.
• Maintenance and deep cleaning of the kitchen and equipment.
• Assisting with dishwashing when necessary.
• Contributing to the execution of the staff meal program.
• Meet production schedules and timelines

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:

• Previous experience, 2 - 4 years, in the culinary field and in a high quality well rounded kitchen environment
• Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Must possess strong verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills and be a team player.
• Responsible, dependable and available to work all shifts including mornings, nights, holidays and weekends.
• Must be able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, have good time management skills and excellent attention to detail, 
• Must be self-disciplined with a sincere desire to provide excellent customer service.
• A strong willingness to learn and develop one’s skills.
• Able to work any and all stations and understanding and use of all pieces of equipment in the kitchen
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Will be required to be on your feet for extended periods of time
• May be required to lift up to 70lbs

• Salary/Wage: $23 - $25

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
