Position: Customer Experience & Content Creation Coordinator

Location: Windsure Adventure Watersports at Jericho Beach, Vancouver BC

Duration: May 1 2023 – September 5, 2023 (seasonal)

Hours: Part-Time, 22.5 hours per week – some weekends, 8:30am-4:30pm

Compensation: $16.50 per hour

Established in 1977, Windsure is a family-run watersports business, located at beautiful Jericho Beach in West Point Grey, Vancouver. Today, we work to share our love of three quintessential Vancouver watersports: Windsurfing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and Skimboarding.

What you’ll do:

We are looking for a Customer Experience & Content Coordinator to join our energetic and outdoor-loving team! Does finding the best solution to a customer service issue fill you with a sense of achievement? Are you a content creation whiz who is up to date on the latest trends and technologies? This position will support general administration, customer experience and content creation initiatives across Windsure. We are seeking a candidate who is interested in learning multiple sides of a business and will take leadership on creating engaging content in alignment with our brand identity. The ideal candidate may also be interested in getting on the water and occasionally teaching our sports (training provided!). 

This position is expected to be partially funded by a grant program. Therefore, applicants must be enrolled as a student at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution during the work term (this does not mean that you need to be actively taking classes). Priority will be given to applicants representing certain equity-deserving groups.

Some examples of the daily tasks of the Customer Experience & Content Creation Coordinator include: 

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE & ADMINISTRATION

• Opening, closing and managing office two days a week, backfilling Customer Experience & Marketing Coordinator

• Offer customer experience support via phone, e-mail, and in person – booking experiences, rescheduling, refunds, experience management

• Own the Fareharbor online booking system- carry out updates and system changes as needed

• Help prepare summer camp program information and class lists

• Website management, updating and editing as needed

• Assist Owner, General Manager, Supervisors and Customer Experience & Marketing Coordinator with other administrative tasks as needed

CONTENT CREATION:

• Assist Customer Experience & Marketing Coordinator in strategic planning, management and execution of Integrated Marketing Campaigns from a content perspective, including via the following channels: social media accounts, email marketing, Facebook/ Google Ads, in-person activations

• Create content for TikTok, Reels, Facebook, blog posts including video, photography, editing

• Create graphic creative assets for marketing campaigns

You’re a good fit if you:

• Love being outside and active, especially on the water

• Are proficient in one or more of our watersports (the more, the better) - not required

• Know how to create memorable customer and learning experience

• Have an understanding and/or curiosity of race, gender, BIPOC, LGBTQ2SIA+ and climate justice issues and are committed to creating safe community spaces

What we’re looking for:

• Enrolled as a student at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution during the work term

• Confident operating a multi-line telephone

• Excellent communication & customer service skills

• Coachable & curious

• Preferred- some education/ prior experience in content creation

• Have some skills in photography, videography and editing

• Are a social media guru and are excited about content creation

• Weekend availability - please do not apply if not
