of Business Development
Contribute to the Growth of Kelowna
Tourism Kelowna is the destination marketing engine for
Kelowna and the Central Okanagan, responsible for promoting the area as a
desirable travel destination. They are seeking an experienced, professional, and
personable leader of business development and the sales team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and as a member
of the Senior Management Team, this person will work collaboratively with clients,
colleagues, and partners to drive business travel tourism and increase the
economic benefit for local businesses, the city of Kelowna, and the surrounding
communities.
Responsible
to develop and execute on the strategic sales and tactical plans, this position
implements direct sales initiatives to generate leads, collaborates with the
Marketing and Communications team , creates cooperative community partnerships,
and coordinates and hosts familiarization tours.

problem solver, and have a proven track record leading and managing high
performing sales teams (tourism and hospitality related sales is required). As a
Business Development Leader not only in the organization but also the community
and industry, this individual will thrive in social interactions, build relationships
with ease, see the big picture, and at the same time, pitch in as a member of
this close knit team to ensure even the most administrative tasks are completed.
This requires strong computer skills, tech savviness, exceptional
organizational and communication skills (including speaking in public!), as
well as charisma and flexibility.
