The Fraser River Discovery Centre (FRDC) in New Westminster, BC is an interpretive centre and not-for-profit organization. The FRDC’s mission is to bring together the many voices of the Fraser to discover, celebrate, and inspire passionate stewards of the river through exhibits, education programs, and public programs. The FRDC is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our small, dynamic team of staff and volunteers.
This internship starts in May 2023 and ends Dec 2023. The Education Assistant position is a dynamic role best suited for someone who likes to learn—everyday will be different. As Education Assistant, a typical week may include travelling to different schools to facilitate outreach programs; delivering programs at the FRDC; conducting research and helping with program development; and greeting visitors and processing sales at the front desk. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and has an interest in public education.
