Beverage Cashier: $16.31/hour plus 10% in lieu of benefits & vacation

Who we are… 

The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 111-year old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of approximately $58 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:  the 15 day annual summer Fair which averages 800,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.  The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance.  The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and being the best we can be.

We are seeking enthusiastic and outgoing individuals that have a passion for the hospitality and events industry. We are looking for part-time, event-based Beverage Servers and Concessions Attendants that will provide exceptional service to PNE guests during concerts, family shows and other PNE events.

Beverage Cashier (must be 19 years of age or older):

In your role as a Beverage Cashier, your primary accountabilities will be to:

• Sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during PNE concerts and events
• Ability to process sales transactions efficiently and accurately
• Ensure beverages are presentable and bar area is kept clean
• Restocking, cleaning and organizing of all related work equipment and areas
• Providing efficient, professional service while being an effective salesperson
• Provide exceptional and friendly guest service
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by Serving it Right

Beverage Cashier Qualifications:

• Must be at least 19 years of age due to licensing requirements
• Must have a valid Serving It Right Certificate
• Must be available to work a variety of part-time events throughout the year, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Have an incredible ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment while maintaining a first-in-class hospitality and food and beverage experience
• Must have excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
