PURPOSE

The Food & Beverage Supervisor will work closely with the Restaurant GM to oversee aspects of the Food & Beverage operation during service including executing strategies surrounding revenue and service delivery within Hilton Standard. This candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and develop team members so they can reach their full potential. The Food & Beverage Supervisor will also act as a Banquet Captain during events and assist the Banquet Manager with their operation. 

PRIMARY DUTIRES

• Maintain excellent communication between departments and within the Food & Beverage Division
• Ensure quality of service by going above and beyond guest expectation whenever possible
• Assisting the Manager on Duty with day to day operations and with any services challenges that may arise
• Train new team members
• Mentor and train staff through leading by example, coaching and performance management
• Maintaining a small server section whilst on shift and undertaking those responsibilities of a server
• Achieve budget forecast goals (labor, revenue and profit) by controlling costs and by developing and implementing strategies to increase revenues while maintaining highest standards of service excellence
• Contribute to the overall Westmont and Hilton’s company goals, initiative and objectives
• Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the F&B outlets and delivering service levels which meet or exceed Hilton Standards. 
• Assist with handling and resolving any guests issues that may arise during the day
• Be aware of BEO functions on the Outlets and ensure that team and guests have everything they require to make functions run smoothly
• Work closely with Conference Services and the Banquet team when preparing and executing events
• Supervise and assist with set-up, service and tear down of banquet functions
• Ongoing training with team members to promote consistent, professional service that will exceed our guest’s expectations

• Spending one on one time with all team members to maintain two-way dialogue, provide feedback, problem resolution, and brainstorming and promote good working relationships
• Ensure staff use up-sell techniques 

• Follows & communicates company policies & procedures as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years Food & Beverage experience, preferably in a hotel environment 
• Previous Banquet experience an asset
• Excellent communication skills and command of the English language both written and verbal. Other languages an asset
• High energy, positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow.
• Well-presented and well groomed
• Shows initiative, creativity and flexibility
• Excellent guest service skills, desire to meet and exceed guest expectations
• Natural leader and team player
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Logical thinking, advanced organizational skills

• Extensive cash handling experience
• Micros or other point of sale experience
• Must obtain a Serving it Right and Food Safe certification 
• Able to stand for entire shift (8 hours at a time)
• Able to carry and balance heavy trays for extended periods of time, and/or lift other heavy items to a weight over 20 lbs
• Occasional lifting of beer kegs weighing up to 120 lbs
• Able to work under pressure and with sometimes demanding / abrasive clientele
