Howard Johnson Hotel & Suites Victoria is now hiring for a full-time Guest Service Agent. This is a great opportunity to work in a reputable hotel in a friendly, team-oriented work environment. The Guest Service Agent is the first and last person a guest comes in contact with. It is very important that the individual possesses a strong outgoing personality, with an ability to pay close attention to details. We are proud of our strong reputation of great customer service.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Register arriving guests and assign rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible
• Accurately communicate with other shifts regarding issues arising from day-to-day operations
• Handle incoming telephone calls and other guest communication professionally
• Input and confirm Guest reservations, both over the phone and via email
• Take payments and post outstanding charges accurately to guest accounts
• Compile daily cash transaction and balance all revenue totals of cash and credits against revenue report
• Prepare hotel operating reports and completes audit package
• Follow set polices regarding cash handling and repost any error in daily transaction activity and to the GSM
• Actively seeks opportunities to make an emotional connection with the guest, far surpassing their expectations at every opportunity
• Be aware of local attractions and restaurants and make recommendations to guests

Employment Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school
• Front desk and/or customer service experience preferred but not required

Applicable Skills:

• First aid and CPR qualification are beneficial
• Working experience with vacation property management software, excel and word is ideal
• Excellent customer service and be friendly and professional with guests
• Able to communicate with other departments in a friendly and professional manner
• Ability to work independently for long periods of time
• Well organized and the ability to multitask
• Attention to detail and problem resolution skills

• Salary/Wage: $17.00
