The Duffin Cove Oceanfront Lodging has 5 housekeeping attendant vacancies in the Housekeeping Department cleaning guest rooms, and public areas.
Job responsibilities include:
- Sweep, mop, wash, wax and polish floors
- Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
- Make beds, change sheets and distribute clean towels and toiletries
- Attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies
- Stock linen closets and other supplies’ areas
- Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
- Clean and disinfect public areas
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers
- Wash windows, walls and ceilings.
- Report and store lost and found items
- May provide basic information on facilities
- May handle complaints.
- Complete laundry, operate laundry machines and fold towels and linens
Requirements:
Previous housekeeping experience is considered an asset but not essential. Able to lift/carry 30 pounds. You must also have the ability to communicate in an English work environment.
Our location is Tofino, BC. Address:215 Campbell St, Tofino, BC V0R 2Z0.
These are permanent positions, with full-time hours (30-40 hours per week). We will consider candidates with part-time availability as well. Work will be day shifts of 8 hours and can include weekends and holidays.
Wage offered: $20/hr + tips with subsidized accommodation for $300 – $400 monthly.

The Maq is a botique hotel, a Cold Beer, Wine and Spirits Store, Pub, and Restaurant, in the heart of Tofino, BC. The Maq (formerly the Maquinna) was the first hotel built in Tofino. In our wild west days, before the highway started bringing tourists, this was known as the best stop on the coast for fishermen and loggers to unwind, have a shower, some drinks, and to 'socialize'.
We have harbour view King Rooms, family suites, and Queen rooms. All of our hotel rooms and bathrooms are newly renovated, and improved to make your stay amazing. This past winter we completely rebuilt all the bathrooms, built the restaurant, and renovated the entire first floor. The owners of the hotel, The Hooks Family, curated the funky style, the art, and the total feel of the hotel.
Our Cold Beer and Wine Store offers a thoughtfully curated selection. We feature regional craft beers, wines and spirits. We carry organic products, one-offs from brewery and distillery partners, and a wide selection of classics. All Maq guests receive a 10% discount at the store, just show your room keys, and our knowledgeable clerks will hook you up!
The Maq Pub is a great place to catch some live music, sip on a classic cocktail, and meet some locals. This pub is legendary, was the first in Tofino, and is now known as an excellent music venue with great craft beer and cider selections.
The Maq is located at the very end of the Trans Canada Highway. Just down the hill is the First Street Dock, the gateway to beautiful Clayoquot Sound. Look out the reception area windows, and see the incredible expanses of untouched old growth forest on Meares Island and Flores Island. Ask our Guest Services staff about Whale Watching, Hot Springs, and Kayaking Tours.
