Sparkling Hill Resort is looking for a dynamic leader who is highly organized and capable in providing leadership, guidance and direction in achieving the hotel vision and mission with a young energetic workforce. This position will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities for the Housekeeping Department and working closely with the Room Attendants, Laundry, House Persons and Leadership Teams of all Hotel Departments.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and the Rooms Division Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead and effectively communicate to the Housekeeping team requirements of daily business, tour, and groups in the Hotel including VIP guests and special requests.
• Maintain a positive work environment, lead by example and motivate associates to reach their potential
• Educate associates on safe work practices, including proper storage of chemicals and materials needed for daily room cleaning
• Working closely with the Front Desk to ensure that the best guest experience is delivered on a regular basis
• Strategic planning and vision of the department
• Establish goals, measurements and results for the department
• Effective recruitment, selection, development of leaders and colleagues alike
• Ensure high morale through recognition and removal of identified barriers
• Search for industry trends and implement enhancements to product and service
• Track and address all guest comments and concerns
• Ensure guest rooms and service standards are implemented and audited for consistency
• Develop and update job descriptions and standard operating procedures for all shifts within the department
• Follow and stay within department operational budget
• Develop and maintain life files on furniture, seating, and bedding for guest rooms and public areas including equipment that co-relate to five-year capital plans
• Plan, cost and execute capital expenditures
• Plan and organize all deep cleaning and cycle projects relating to guest rooms and public areas
• Effective purchasing program allowing for operating supplies and expenses within budget
• Effective scheduling, vacation planning and departmental productivity results to budget
• Provide necessary resources; functional tools and equipment to get the job done including linen
• Effective everyday communications, including performance management
• Monitor and revise as needed the departmental Health & Safety tools including WCB and WHMIS training programs, policies and practices
• Effective communication and follow-up with Maintenance department in relation to guest rooms and public areas
• Coordinate and schedule outside contractors as needed
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned

• Previous experience is an asset
• Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate colleagues is key to the consideration of your application
• Must be highly organized and energetic and possess the ability to get the job done
• Previous Management and or Supervisory experience
• Strong administration skills combined with communication skills both written and oral. (French / English an asset)
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and preferably Maestro
• University degree or College diploma in Hospitality management an asset
