We currently have a full-time Liquor Store Manager position available at Cap’s Liquor Store.

The ideal candidate for this position is friendly, detail-oriented, and able to handle the physical demands of the job. A successful candidate will be required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Oversee and supervise all aspects of the liquor store.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and Controller to create and maintain processes for analyzing and interpreting data relevant to the store’s performance.
• Monitor sales and inventory trends to forecast sales and maintain adequate stock levels.
• Receive and input all deliveries and ensure that they are properly rotated and stored.
• Inventory counts and variance reports.
• Process breakages, split/combines and returns.
• Set up and maintain product displays and promotional campaigns.
• Cash handling & deposits
• Prepare and manage the department budget.
• Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments.
• Manage social media accounts and other marketing platforms to promote the liquor store.

Employee Relations:

• Prepare staff work schedules and assign specific duties.
• Establish professional working relationships with staff to maximize productivity and engagement.
• Motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer service by leading by example.
• Interview, select, and train new warehouse and supervisory personnel.
• Monitor employee performance and work together to make improvements, resolve problems as they arise, and take corrective action as necessary.
• Monitor warehouse safety and security programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years of experience in a managerial role.
• 3+ years of previous liquor store experience is required.
• Have a good knowledge of wines (especially BC wines), liquor & beer products.
• Experience working with Barnet POS system is an asset.
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, regularly interacting across all departments and organizational levels.
• Able to multi-task and perform physically demanding work; lifting 40-45lbs boxes.
• Must hold a valid Serving It Right™ Certificate.
• Required to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
