Bear Claw Lodge is looking to hire a full time caretaker/property manager. Ideally we would like to hire a couple who would be interested in taking care of the property all year round as well as working in and out of house during our operating seasons. Caretaking requires taking care of the entire property and grounds: basic maintenance, generator upkeep (oil changes, etc), lawn care, water system, hot tub, gardens, housekeeping, operating machinery (tractor, snow plough, kubota, chainsaw), road upkeep, fencing. The property is off grid and 1 hour from the nearest town. It is important that whoever applies for the position is capable, self motivated, and a good problem solver.
During operating seasons, all of this would continue to need to be maintained. We would also have full time work within the lodge if there was interest there (housekeeping, bartending, waitress/waiter).
The job offer would include salary, room and board, full medical benefits.
Class 5 driver's license (Class 4 would be ideal)
Able to operate machinery: tractor, chainsaw, snowblower, weedwhacker/brush saw, lawn mower.
Able to do basic mechanics (oil changes, basic generator knowledge or willingness to learn, manage the water system (change filters), Hot tub maintenance, Service water pumps, charge batteries.
Serving it right (not a must have)
Food Safe level 1
First Aid level 1 and transportation
Hospitality experience is a plus.
Again, we are ideally looking for people who can take care of the property in the off season and also work during our operating seasons (winer: Heli-skiing, summer: outdoor recreation, fall steelhead fly-fishing season).
We are a full service lodge with a very tight knit team. Being able to work as a team and with others is the most important part of this job.
Please send your resume along with references to Kaleigh Allen (email provided)
If your resume(s) meet(s) the job requirements, we will set up a zoom interview.
If we strongly consider hiring you, we will then meet in person is possible.
We will contact you within the next few days to confirm whether or not you have the job.
