Glacier Raft Company has been providing whitewater rafting trips on the Kicking Horse River in Golden, BC since 1982.  We love the river and the outdoors, and we want to share this passion with our staff and everyone who visits Golden.

We are looking for someone to join our friendly, fast paced office team.

Duties Include

• Answering questions and addressing people’s concerns about rafting

• Answering phones and emails and taking reservations

• Customer service – being a friendly, welcoming and helpful face to everyone who walks through the door

• Working through the numerous day to day tasks required for us to run an organized, efficient and professional program

• Light cleaning around our office and lodge

• Helping lodge guests with check in 

Required Skills

• Attention to Detail - the little things make a big difference. We expect you to be conscientious and organized to help us run a professional program

• You must be able to respond to email inquiries in a professional and cohesive way - spelling, grammar and punctuation are important

• You must be friendly, welcoming and have a positive attitude

• You must have strong computer skills.  All of our systems are 100% computer based so you must be comfortable navigating the internet and different online softwares

• You must be polite and professional, helpful and friendly 

• You must be flexible and patient and willing to answer the same questions hundreds of times.  Rafting is a new experience for most of our guests, so they have LOTS of questions. You must be committed to being as upbeat in September as you are in May. 

• You must be easy to get along with.  We are a tight team and we expect everyone to get along, work together and help out with whatever is needed

• You must be comfortable talking with people and being a positive ambassador of Glacier Raft Company, Whitewater Lodge and Golden B.C.

• You must be willing to learn about the river and our trips as quickly as possible early in the season. It’s a short, busy summer, so knowing this information right away is critical.  Depending on how quickly you pick things up, you may need to do some of this memorizing on your own time.

• Must be available to work from late May to mid September

Other Assets

• Previous experience in customer service and the tourism industry

• Experience in a busy, fast paced environment

• Familiar with Google Drive

• Proficient with different social media platforms

• Priority will be given to people who plan to stay in Golden for a while and are interested in working with us for multiple seasons

• Knowing about the area, being familiar with the various outdoor activities, hiking trails, tourist attractions etc. 

• Salary/Wage: $22.00
