We are currently seeking 2 permanent fulltime Sous Chef at Italian Kitchen at 860 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC
The position of sous chef comes with a great deal of responsibility. Reporting directly to the executive chef, the successful sous chef will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with the kitchenâs operations so that they may fill in for the executive chef when needed and assist them in resolving any problems that may arise on the job.
A sous chef must possess the ability to quickly and authoritatively delegate job tasks to a large staff. They must also be able to draw upon their considerable experience as a culinary chef who has worked in many different roles and settings in order to effectively coach and mentor junior chefs.
Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
May plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies
May prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
