Nestled on forty acres of picturesque pioneer farmland in Salmon Arm, BC, the facility stands as the Shuswap’s foremost heritage and cultural destination. Operated by the Salmon Arm Museum and Heritage Association, this not-for-profit charitable organization is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Salmon Arm and its surrounding areas.
The site boasts 24 buildings, a mix of replicas and originals, including the iconic 1910 Haney House, providing over 30 exhibits for guests to explore. From engaging activities, tours, and programs like the Villains and Vittles Dinner Theatre to the annual car show and the High Tea and Harvest Celebration, visitors have the opportunity to experience history hands-on. Families can enjoy playful learning at the one-of-a-kind Children’s Museum and Discovery Centre.

This versatile position involves opening and closing the ticket kiosk, providing excellent customer service, and accurately processing various ticketing options. The attendant maintains cash control, handles database management, and ensures adherence to procedures and policies. As a representative of the organization, the attendant greets visitors, responds to inquiries and upholds the professional image of the Heritage Village. Operating within a commitment to provide meaningful work experiences, the Ticket Gate Attendant plays a vital role in welcoming visitors to this family-oriented heritage tourism destination. This position requires organizational, reliability, adaptive, and learning skills, fostering a collaborative working environment while aligning with the organization’s dedication to supporting youth in building valuable work experiences.

Haney Heritage Village & Museum is dedicated to bringing Salmon Arm’s history to life and offering a unique tourism experience to our guests. Candidates should be interested in history and be willing to learn about our local history. These positions are full-time for the 2024 season, with work terms starting in May for 16 weeks, June for 10 weeks, and July for 8 weeks. We are an equal-opportunity employer—some positions are funded through Canada Summer Jobs and Young Canada Works. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for these programs. You must be available to work evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Be prepared to commit to the work dates’ full duration and treat this as your primary job.
