Great Explorations/Randonneé Tours is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Travel Advisor in its Vancouver offices.

Great Explorations & Randonneé Tours specialize in guided & self-guided active travel to more than 24 countries in North America, Europe and around the world. We are one of the few companies in our field that operate our own tours with our own team of guides, our own bicycles & equipment and our own distinctive style.

Great Explorations has been recognized by National Geographic Traveler as one of the top Active Travel Companies on the planet and has also been recognized multiple times by the Georgia Straight as a top tour operator in BC. Our event management subsidiary creates, produces and manages cycling events that raise awareness and funding for recreational, environmental and other causes.

Randonneé Tours has been North America’s leading specialist in self-guided active tours since 1990 and operates in 16 countries. 

Based on recent sustained growth, we anticipate growing 20% per year and are looking for committed staff to work together who share our values and vision.

The role of Travel Advisor includes the following responsibilities:

* to respond to client inquiries and provide knowledgeable information about our trips and travel in the counties in which we operate,
* to provide intelligent, creative and practical recommendations and to match clients with the trip best suited to them,
* to manage all reservation transactions including availability confirmation, billing and supporting correspondence, documentation fulfillment,
* to offer savvy advice on travel arrangements in the countries we operate in,
* to follow-up on all sales leads, and to initiate sales opportunities,
* to complete post-vacation follow-up with guests to extend our relationships with customers,
* to plan new trips and custom trip requests,
* to participate in digital marketing initiatives to expand our brand awareness.

*excellent people skills and a clear, comfortable telephone manner- polite, personal, enthusiastic and effective,
*sales experience, though travel industry experience is not essential
*travel experience, especially in Europe
*a passion for outstanding customer service,
*strong verbal and written communication skills,
*proficient in  Microsoft Office suite of applications. Familiarity with CRM software,
*excellent organizational skills,
*knowledge of Adobe Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) would be an asset
*French, Spanish, and / or Italian language & writing skills would be an asset

• Salary/Wage: negotiable based on experience
