The District of Mission is looking for a friendly, energetic and welcoming student to make connections while providing tourism information and advice to local residents and visitors at the Mission Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and at key locations in the community. Reporting to the Manager of Tourism and Communications, you will use your exceptional customer service and online marketing skills in conjunction with front line work that will form the day-to-day basis of this position.
You will have the opportunity to work with staff to create a business engagement survey and connect with tourism stakeholders (event organizers, attractions, restaurants, campgrounds, etc.) to inquire about their 2020 business performance and their business plans and goals for 2021. You will be responsible for compiling and analyzing the survey results and bring forward recommendations that will enable Tourism Mission to determine how to best support each business during and post the COVID-19 pandemic.
You will have awareness  of the services available in the Mission area and be knowledgeable about local, regional and provincial tourism products. It is key to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and telephone) along with the ability to perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions with minimal supervision and at least one year of related customer-service oriented work experience.
