Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic, Cassandra Hotel is rebuilding as a unique mid-range independent limited service hotel in Vancouver with a retro-modern design aesthetic. The hotel is steps away from Skytrain station, famous eateries, popular restaurants, major grocery stores, renowned bubble tea cafes, major banks, and an extensive list of professional services.

Located in the heart of historical Collingwood neighbourhood, Cassandra Hotel has 60 rooms with many of them facing the spectacular North Shore mountains and mesmerizing downtown city lights. In collaboration with local and international partners, we have launched many cutting-edge technologies and automated systems to serve a new crop of travellers.

We are seeking candidates with boutique hotel operational experience and hospitality skills to perform reservation related tasks, technical processes and service delivery You will be joining a team with diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Responsibilities:

• Acquiring and providing knowledge on hotel, services and rates
• Identify community information and provide to guests
• Responding to guests concerns and perform service recovery
• Answering enquiries and determining guests needs
• Using sales techniques to sell rooms
• Creating, updating, confirming and processing reservations
• Preparing and processing guest arrivals
• Accommodating and converting walk-ins
• Checking in guests and groups
• Preparing and processing guest departures
• Checking out guests and groups
• Verifying and following up with late departures
• Learning about and using systems and equipment
• Using communication services and processing calls, messages and voicemail
• Performing administrative operational procedures and audits
• Handling, issuing and renewing keycards, digital keys and other access
• Liaising with other departments
• Organizing and maintaining work areas
• Providing guest services related to mail, luggage and lost & found
• Managing float and processing transactions
• Following safety and emergency guidelines
• Protecting facility and privacy of guests and co-workers

Qualifications & Requirements

• Available to work up to 20 hours a week (2 full shifts on Friday and Saturday evenings, 1 shift of 4 hours during the week)
• Acquiring and providing knowledge on hotel, services and rates
• minimum 6 months in hotel frontdesk, housekeeping and/or guest services
• 1 year in similar customer service roles can be considered
• certificate and diploma in hospitality is welcomed
• degree in hospitality, tourism or hotel management is preferred
• flexible availability to work morning, afternoon and late evenings
• knowledge and experience with property management system
• First Aid certification is an asset
• reference check is mandatory
