A Message From WorkSafeBC Regarding Keeping Lone Workers Safe. Earlier this month, a hotel worker in Victoria was assaulted, tied up, and robbed in the early hours of the morning. This disturbing event is an example of the risks of working alone. This is a reminder to employers that you are responsible for the health and safety of your workers, including having a system in place to ensure your workers are safe when they are working alone. Krista Frasz, HR Manager, and Cathy Greene, Housekeeping Manager, from Predator Ridge Resort recently worked closely with the Vernon and District Association for Community Living (VDACL) to form a strategic partnership focused on providing local employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Kelley Michael Schaefer has returned to the Okanagan to join the ENCORE Vineyards team as Hospitality Manager.
Sydney Solland, Visitor Experience Specialist with Tourism Kelowna will be moving up to cover the Visitor Experience, Operations role for Morgan Hunter, who will be on maternity leave beginning May 10. Congratulations to Morgan who recently welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world.

Joey Byatt recently joined the Tourism Kelowna team in the position of Visitor Experience, Service & Retail.
Tourism Kelowna welcomed practicum student Dallas Burnett to their team for the month of May. 
Brent Lavery has returned to Kelowna in the position of General Manager, Manteo Resort and Hotel Eldorado & Marina.
