BC-Employer Training Grant All employers operating within BC in the private and non-profit sectors are eligible to apply for the BC Employer Training Grant, potentially covering between 60-100% of SuperHost or other eligible staff training. Applications are now being accepted for training that is to take place between September - December 2019. Read more

Creative Volunteer Recruitment at the Salmon Arm RootsandBlues Festival The Salmon Arm RootsandBlues Music Festival, like many festivals, relies heavily on volunteers for their success but that doesn’t stop them from providing learning opportunities to local students. They have partnered with Thompson Rivers Student Union to offer 4 TRU Students with internship opportunities during the festival. Though these are unpaid volunteer positions, the festival recognizes the value of the students and is offering a creative compensation package. Read more
Thanks to Anita Labelle at WorkBC Vernon, who let us know that the festival also offered a Security Certification Program in return for a 3-year commitment to volunteer as a Security Guard at the festival. Volunteers are responsible for the licensing. Read more
