GROUP RESERVATIONS COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: Reservations Supervisor
ROLE PURPOSE:
In this role, you will be working with our in-house reservations team for our two hotels, the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center in Downtown Vancouver, and the Westin Wall Centre Vancouver Airport in Richmond. You will work with various property management systems and tools to ensure that calls are converted in a friendly manner as customer service is of utmost importance.

The Group Reservations Coordinator handles the various aspects of group travel from when the contract is signed, up until check in. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork will contribute to the overall success of the Wall Centre.
What your day will look like:
• Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers.
• Process all incoming reservations received via rooming lists, in-house correspondence, housing bureau forms, or email.
• Answer questions concerning reservations for employees and other departments including but not limited to Sales, Meetings & Events, and the Executive Office.
• Perform group and administrative tasks such as contract review, setting up booking links, monitoring and tracking pick up, reviewing cutoff dates and setting up billing.
• Coordinate with the Sales and Events teams to update projections and maintain consistent communication
• Attend pre-convention meetings for assigned groups
• Assist the front desk and communications team with check-ins/outs and guest telephone calls when support is requested.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of previous reservations or hotel experience in a similar hotel environment.
• Must have strong communication skills in English, verbal and written. Second language is an asset.
• Must be able to implement and maintain Wall Centre standards, policies, and procedures.
• Dynamic, enthusiastic, assertive career-minded individual.
• High self-initiative, self-starter, dependable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and able to do time management is a must.
• Excellent computer skills including PMS systems – Marriott reservation platforms, MS Word and Excel knowledge, an asset.
•Previous experience with Marriott systems is preferred.
•Walking and standing for long periods of time may be required; you must be able to exert a well-paced mobility to get to other departments in the hotel on a timely basis.
•Must be able to sit at a desk for more than 8 hours a day, with the ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen.
•Must be able to lift 40lbs occasionally.
•Scheduling flexibility includes the ability to work weekends, statutory holidays, and overnight shifts.
•General knowledge of the city and its attractions, as well as the hotel’s facilities.
•Post-secondary education specializing in Hospitality Management an asset or equivalent experience.
Salary/Wage
$27.95-$30.00 per hour
