- Golf Course Groundsperson
A golf course groundsperson maintains landscape sites on the golf course to ensure golf playing conditions at a high standard. This position reports to the golf course grounds manager and/or the assistant superintendent.
Responsibilities
- Operate turf equipment such as mowers
- Plant and maintain ornamental shrubs and trees which includes appropriate pruning, trimming, feeding and pest control
- Prepare soil plant beds, establishes by seed or transplants and maintains annual and perennial flowers in aesthetic arrangements
- Perform other maintenance duties as directed by the grounds manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in gardening and landscaping
- Ability to work independently
- Be reliable and dependable
- Good communication skills
- Have a positive attitude
- Knowledge of irrigation systems an asset
- Experience and knowledge of golf course operation an asset
- Enthusiasm for golf an asset
- Pesticide Applicator certification an asset
- Valid driver’s license
