A golf course starter controls pace of play on golf course by directing players to the first tee at appropriate times.
Responsibilities
- Provide information regarding course, play time and other golf-related issues
- Act as an information centre for golf and real estate development facts
- Verify that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they depart to course, practice tee or range
- Dispense range balls in accordance with club policies
- Determine and track rate of course play
- Maintain clean and orderly appearance of starter’s area/booth at all times
- Arranges players in proper starting order and assign appropriate tees
- Assign carts
- Assign caddies
- Train and instruct caddies in proper duties and etiquette
- Supply players with score cards, pencils and rules of play
- Advise players and caddies of golf course conditions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good communication skills

- Customer service experience
- Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team
- Knowledge of the game of golf
