Overview:

The primary role of the Ski Equipment Repairer position is the daily and year-around maintenance of MWHS resort infrastructure and properties as directed by the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor. This includes equipment relating to Heli Skiing operations, resort buildings on and off-site, including accommodations and commercial restaurant/kitchen, remote lodges, machinery, and grounds maintenance. As MWHS is located in a remote location subject to significant seasonal weather much of this work is done outdoors and in adverse conditions.

This position is suited to an individual with a developing or entry level skill set for maintenance work. Extensive, formal training will be provided to further the career development of the technician. Work is to be done in a safe and professional manner as a committed member of the Maintenance Team.

A Day in the Life of a Ski Equipment Repairer:

• Responsible for assisting with the preventative maintenance and minor repair of the
following assets:
o All winter sports equipment, inventory, and repair
o Preventative maintenance on all outdoor sports equipment
o Buildings & Components
o Washrooms & Laundry Facilities
o Drinking Water Systems
o Waste Water Systems
o Driveways and roadways
o Small appliance repair
o Restaurant Equipment & Appliances
• Experienced with vehicle & equipment operation and maintenance.
• Experienced and proficient with power & hand tools, small engines, and construction
• equipment.
• Accepts ownership of organizational goals and explores opportunities to add value to the MWHS guest experience.
• A desire to live and work in a remote setting with limited access to nearby cities.
• Prioritization and time management skills
• Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• General experience in building and utilities maintenance, or an aptitude for working with tools and construction materials. The desire to learn is essential.
• Apprenticeship training in a construction-related trade would be an asset.
• A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience and cleanliness.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and professionalism.
• Basic computer skills; experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; An overweight trailer endorsement would be an asset.
• Occupational First Aid Level 1 preferred
• Willing to work a flexible schedule coinciding with work volumes (Major snow events, emergency break-in work)
• Attributes include strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, persuasive and positive personal image.
