Job Description
Columbia Valley Tourism Marketing Society & Valley Visitor Services is seeking a year-round Visitor Experience Manager to lead our busy visitor services team and support tourism industry development throughout the Columbia Valley. The Visitor Experience Manager leads day to day management of the Radium Hot Springs Visitor Center and related visitor services activities across the Columbia Valley. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people, be an experienced team leader and have a strong knowledge of the activities and experiences in the Columbia Valley.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
– Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Radium Hot Springs Visitor Centre, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Lead and develop the visitor services team, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
– Act as the primary point of contact for partners, stakeholders, and business owners, fostering strong relationships within the community.
– Provide strategic direction for visitor services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
– Coordinate and deliver destination ambassador training programs to educate and engage local stakeholders.
– Collaborate with local business owners, tourism operators, and non-profit organizations to support industry and regional destination development projects.
– Develop and maintain resources to enhance visitor information services, including digital and in-person engagement tools.
– Monitor and report on visitor trends, feedback, and metrics to inform decision-making and improve services.
– Represent the organization at industry events and meetings to advocate for regional tourism development.
Experience & Education:
– A post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Tourism, or a related field.
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in tourism or customer service.
– Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and developing teams.
– Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
– Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
– Knowledge of Columbia Valley activities, events, and attractions is a significant asset.
– Passion for tourism and a commitment to enhancing visitor experiences.
