Job Description
The Lodge Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Great Bear Lodge during its operating season, working alongside and in collaboration with the owner/operators. The Lodge Manager co-manages a team of 8-14 people, ensures that we are delivering an excellent guest experience, and helps to keep the facility functioning. There are two options for this position. The first is as a seasonal position (mid-April through October), living onsite at the lodge during your shifts. The second option is for a year-round position, where your winter work would include business administration tasks such as recruiting, planning, grant applications, etc.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
During season, tasks include:
• hiring and mentoring team members
• acting as onsite host for the guests
• managing external contractors
• ensuring supplies are being ordered
• communicating with our office in Port Hardy
• trouble-shooting maintenance issues
• identifying and implementing changes that can improve the experience for guests and staff
• setting the daily schedule
• filling in where the team needs it
• basic operation of power/water systems
Salary/Wage
48,000 (seasonal)
