What You’ll Be Doing
As a Fleet/Bus Yard Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and supplies at the bus yard are prepared for upcoming tours and kept in an orderly manner. Reporting to the Operations Manager and Fleet Supervisor, your primary duties will include:

Fleet Cleaning and Maintenance (Priority Duties)
-Cleaning the vehicles four times a week based on instructions from the Fleet Supervisor and vehicle usage.
-Assisting the detailing team in ensuring the vehicles are clean inside.

Operations Support (Secondary Duties)
-Maintaining inventory of tour supplies, equipment, and clothing, ensuring everything is returned on time and following up on missing items.
-Organizing, packing, and cleaning camping equipment during summer months. Loading and unloading gear onto the correct bus and ensuring all equipment is returned undamaged, clean, and accounted for.
-Assisting with on-tour/activity food inventory, supply shopping, and vehicle packing.
-Helping organize and run client BBQs, including purchasing food and drinks, packing supplies, and cleaning afterward.
-Supporting sporting events and special events.
Keeping the warehouse and sea can neat and organized.
-Stocking vehicle inventory as per the Fleet Supervisor’s instructions.
-Performing minor vehicle maintenance (e.g., topping up fluids, no driving required).
-Ensuring all areas occupied by Discover Canada Tours are free of debris and garbage.

Working Hours & Schedule
-Part-time summer position (20–40 hours per week).
-Shift work: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts.
-Shifts vary based on tour departures, typically 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
-Potential shifts include:
-7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
-12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
-9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
-Split shifts: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM & 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Responsibilities & Qualifications

-BC driver’s license (Class 5 or better) is required, with a willingness to be trained for a Class 4 unrestricted license.
-High school diploma or equivalent is required.
-Food Safe Certification (available through Go2HR).
-Any post-secondary education is an asset.
