Job Description

As a Whitewater Raft Guide, you will lead adventurous groups through thrilling river experiences, ensuring their safety and enjoyment while navigating various water conditions. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups. You will educate participants about safety protocols, river ecology, and the techniques necessary for an exhilarating rafting experience.
Duties
Lead and guide rafting trips on designated rivers, ensuring the safety of all participants.
Conduct pre-trip briefings to educate guests on safety measures, equipment usage, and paddling techniques.
Communicate effectively with guests throughout the trip, providing instructions and encouragement.
Assess river conditions and make real-time decisions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Maintain equipment and ensure all gear is in good condition before each trip.
Foster a positive atmosphere by engaging with guests through public speaking and customer service skills.
Manage time efficiently to adhere to scheduled trip times while ensuring thorough safety checks.
Provide multilingual support when necessary to accommodate diverse groups of participants.
Requirements
Proven leadership experience in outdoor or adventure settings is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with participants.
Excellent public speaking abilities to convey information clearly and confidently.
Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus for enhancing guest experiences.
Strong time management skills to ensure timely departures and adherence to schedules.
A passion for outdoor activities, particularly whitewater rafting, is essential.
Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adapt to changing weather conditions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
Valid Swift Water Rescue Technician
Commercial Raft Guiding experience an asset Class 3/4
