Job Description
BLOCK ONE Restaurant at 50th Parallel Winery is now hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager.
If you have an ‘Anything is Possible’ mindset and exude a magnetic personality, this could be the right fit for you! The successful candidate will have a sincere passion for hospitality and service. We are looking for an ambitious self-starter; someone who will look at the business as if it’s their own and will proactively contribute on all levels. They must have a proactive mindset but also be highly adaptable and able to make quick decisions on the fly. They will be confident in all areas of the restaurant from bar to dish and will ultimately be responsible for overseeing the floor to ensure the best possible guest experience from beginning to end.
The Assistant Manager will create a positive and collaborative culture with the team as they oversee daily operations to deliver a high-quality dining experience. Responsibilities include: overseeing the dining room, checking-in with guests, training and managing the team as required, and ensuring company policies and industry standards are followed at all times. Previous experience in an upscale dining environment is a must; previous experience in a winery is an asset. In addition to maintaining 50th Parallel Estate winery’s vision, this Manager must provide the highest level of service to our guests. They must report daily to Restaurant Manager and work closely with the culinary team.

Qualifications:
● Education: A post-secondary degree in business management or hospitality is an asset
● Experience: Prior experience in the restaurant industry with proven management and
coaching skills
● Strong wine knowledge
● Ability to work varied hours; must be available evenings and weekends
● Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and employees
● Customer service focus and quality orientated
● High energy level, with a tolerance for stressful situations
● Strong organizational skills; planning and forecasting
● Able to successfully coach and manage people
● Driven toward personal development
● Computer Skills: Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 46 per week
