Job Description
A Campground Supervisor for BC Parks Operators play a pivotal role in ensuring a welcoming, enjoyable, and safe environment for campground visitors. This dynamic position is ideal for an enthusiastic and positive communicator who thrives in a team-oriented setting.
We are seeking a highly organized and responsible individual to join our team as a Campground Supervisor. The Campground Supervisor will oversee daily operations, manage staff, ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the campground facilities. This position requires excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a natural outdoor setting.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
1. Staff Management:
● Supervise campground staff, including training and performance management.
● Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient operation of the campground.
● Provide ongoing support, guidance, conflict resolution and motivation to staff members.
● Arrange staff coverage when needed.
● Assist management in performance evaluations and maintain quality control records.
● Coordinate in planning and delivering team building activities.
2. Guest Relations:
● Interact with campground guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly.
● Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness throughout the campground.
● Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience.
3. Campground Operations:
● Understand the jobs and tasks required of Park Operators as detailed in the Quality Control Plan.
● Oversee the day-to-day operation of the campground, including check-in/check-out procedures, reservations, and campground maintenance.
● Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure facilities are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with safety regulations.
● Monitor campground activities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, enforcing policies when necessary.
● Inventory materials and supplies, monitor utilities and assist in the operation of basic water systems.
4. Safety and Emergency Management:
● Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
● Respond to emergencies and incidents in a calm and effective manner, following established protocols and coordinating with appropriate authorities if necessary.
● Conduct regular safety inspections of campground facilities and equipment.
● Interact with the park patrons to educate and implement BC Parks policies and the Parks Act.
5. Administrative Duties:
● Maintain accurate records of campground activities, including occupancy rates, revenue, and expenses.
● Monitor deficiency tickets and assign tasks to personnel.
● Prepare reports and documentation as required by the company and BC Parks.
● Assist in developing and implementing campground policies and procedures.
● Capable of working hands-on with computer applications to manage business processes daily (POS system, records, reporting) and be able to problem solve basic IT issues.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or campground management preferred.
● Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
● Knowledge of campground operations and outdoor recreational activities.
● First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
● Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
● Physical ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
● Familiarity with computer systems and campground management software is an asset.
