Since earning COR certification in 2010, Panorama Mountain Resort has seen firsthand how the program enhances workplace safety culture and employee well-being. During a maintenance audit last year, Julia observed a high level of commitment and motivation among workers, reinforcing a culture of accountability and safety.

Employees actively participated in meaningful safety discussions during the audit, offering valuable frontline perspectives. COR has instilled a sense of ownership, empowering staff to proactively identify hazards, report safety concerns, and collaborate on continuous improvements.

“The COR program is a key driver in strengthening our safety culture,” says Julia. Since certification, the resort has upheld high safety standards, leading to a noticeable reduction in workplace injuries and incidents. “The program encourages employers to proactively adhere to health and safety regulations and analyze injury trends to prevent recurrence,” she adds.

Julia believes that investing in workplace safety is both a strategic business decision and a commitment to long-term success. By fostering safer work environments and implementing preventative measures, businesses can lower injury claims and premiums—reducing costs while building a more motivated, productive workforce.

One of the most valuable aspects of conducting the audit, Julia notes, was the opportunity to engage with employees at all levels through confidential interviews. This process required careful planning to minimize disruptions while ensuring comprehensive feedback.

Panorama Mountain Resort remains deeply committed to its COR certification, recognizing the ongoing effort required to maintain the highest safety standards for both employees and guests.

“Safety is not a one-time achievement—it’s a continuous journey that demands time, effort, and dedication.”

After completing her internal auditor training with go2HR last February, Julia participated in her first COR internal audit for the resort.

“The training team at go2HR was incredibly helpful and engaging—it was a fantastic learning experience!”

go2HR is proud to be a certifying partner for the WorkSafeBC COR program.
