Job Description

Eleven Revelstoke Lodge is seeking an experience Prep Cook to enhance the culinary offerings at Quartermaster Eatery. This role is centered on supporting the dinner service by preparing plate components in line with our standards. The Prep Cook will collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient food production par levels, contributing to quality expectations and an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This position requires a solid background in a fast-paced kitchen environment, attention to detail, multi tasking skills, and the ability to work well within a team. Flexibility to work midday during weekdays and weekends is essential. This full time, seasonal position starts at $20.50 per hour and is eligible to receive gratuities. The Summer season runs May through October.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position Purpose

The Prep Cook will play a key role in supporting the Quartermaster culinary team with food preparations, transportation, and meal service for the Quartermaster Eatery. This position focuses primarily on contributing to the a la carte dinner service, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. The Line Cook will assist in the preparation of plate components that support the smooth execution of dinner service while collaborating closely with the culinary team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

Perform at a high level in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment while maintaining a respectful, calm composure and fostering a team environment
Use strong communication skills to maintain clear communications with all culinary and lodge staff, as well as uphold optimal operational performance
Stay up to date and knowledgeable with the staff schedule
Regularly check company email, thoroughly reading all emails and responding in a timely manner
Become knowledgeable and assist the culinary team as needed in managing food inventory; stocking food inventory based on demand, shopping, receiving orders, submitting vendor invoices, and maintaining monthly inventory audits
Become knowledgeable and assist culinary team in maintaining a clean, food-safe, and organized kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly used and cared for while keeping an accurate and up-to-date inventory record
Become knowledgeable and systematically execute food preparations and transportation with precision, attention to detail, and efficiency
Professionally interact with guests professionally with confidence to make sure they are having the best possible experience
Assist culinary team as needed to host special events at the Quartermaster restaurant and Eleven Revelstoke Lodge and off-site
Be a flexible team player willing to help complete the culinary team goals and guest needs – long hours, switching days off if needed, meeting guest needs and expectations.

Qualifications

Food Safe certification
Prior F&B experience
Proficiency in professional cooking and food preparation techniques.

Ability to maintain high standards of food presentation and consistency in a luxury setting.

Preferences

Prior experience in a high-end or boutique hotel or lodge environment.
Familiarity with local ingredients and a commitment to using fresh, seasonal produce.
Ability to take initiative and contribute ideas to enhance the guest experience.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in all culinary tasks..

Work Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Dexterity to handle knives, kitchen appliances, and hot surfaces safely.
Tolerance for working in extreme temperatures, including hot kitchen lines and walk-in freezers.
Willingness to work in a loud and busy environment with exposure to kitchen machinery, chemicals, and fire.
Ability to work long hours, including early mornings or late evenings if needed.
