Job Description

Tiicma Hospitality is recruiting a Lodge Manager for the Walters Cove Resort sports fishing operation. This is a seasonal position.

Reporting to: Tiicma Hospitality General Manager

Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Kyuquot, BC
Close Date: Until position is filled

Lodge Operations
-Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fishing lodge, ensuring standards are being met
-Financial oversight, reporting, day-end, week-end, and month-end reconciliations are processed, etc.
-Support and mentor department leads in the effective operation of their department and assist in problem-solving
-Monitor inventory levels and order any required operational supplies
-Ensure health and safety policy and procedure are being adhered to
-Manage logistics of guest transport
-Coordinate cultural BBQs
-Organize supply pick up from the Uchuck weekly
-Work with all regulatory bodies with jurisdiction over the lodge

Customer Service
-Engage with guests to ensure trip satisfaction and that requests are being fulfilled
-Address any guest feedback to ensure their needs are being met
-Facilitate a positive, friendly, inclusive, service-oriented culture at the lodge
-Strength relationships with guests and advise sales team of potential opportunities
-Write fishing reports to be posted to social media and distributed to upcoming guests

Staff
-Ensure adequate staff are hired in each department
-Provide training and supervision of all lodge departments
-Lead by example in providing superior service delivery and standards to guests
-Provide required hiring paperwork to the appropriate internal departments
-Implement and monitor the policies contained in the Tiicma Handbook
-Provide staff recognition and encouragement along with any corrective actions

Other
-Check in regularly with the General Manager about overall lodge operation
-Complete any required paperwork (incident reports, etc.)
-Be on site and direct the step-up and shut-down of the lodge

Responsibilities & Qualifications

-Proven leadership and managerial experience (5 years)
-Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Minimum of 5 years experience working in a sports fishing lodge with an in-depth understanding of all departments
-Able to use Microsoft Office suite to intermediate to expert level
-Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clear driver’s abstract
-Available to be in a remote setting, June through to the beginning of September
-Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-Familiar with interacting and working within a remote Indigenous community
-Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Tourism, Operations, or business an asset

Salary/Wage

$275-$350/day
