Job Description

Tourism Harrison is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Seasonal Event Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of our summer events including but not limited to – Sasquatch Days, Canada Day, and Bands on the Beach. Reporting to the Event Coordinator and Executive Director, the ideal candidate brings enthusiasm, strong organizational skills, and a passion for community-driven tourism.

This role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in event coordination while contributing to meaningful tourism initiatives in the region.

Work Dates: June 16 – August 24th (some flexibility and possible extension of dates)

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Assisting the Event Coordinator with their role, including:

Coordinating volunteers for events

Management and organization of all events

Securing sponsorships for various events

Maintaining the Tourism Harrison website relating to events

Hiring various entertainers and performers for Tourism Harrison events and activities.

Marketing activities

On-site coordination of events

Budgeting and reporting

Provide mobile visitor services at local events and festivals throughout the season as applicable.

Comply with the professional dress code and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and protocols

Requirements:

Ideally some event planning experience

Experience using Canva to create promotional materials and signage in accordance with brand guidelines.

Must be proficient in Microsoft products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneDrive.

Experience with WordPress is an asset.

Experience following budgets is an asset.

Ability to be creative and problem solve.

Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Ability to lift 30 lbs

This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible, you must be:

Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

Willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.

Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Able to work 30 hours a week including weekends.

Salary/Wage

18/hr
