About Us
The Burnaby Building Department maintains the quality of life for Burnaby’s citizens by ensuring that safety codes are followed and by enforcing the City’s construction related bylaws. Approximately sixty people work in the department, in Permit Processing, Front Counter and Records, Plan Checking, Building Inspections, Plumbing and Gas Inspections, Electrical Inspections, Bylaw Services and Project Management.
