If you get pumped about the latest in ski and snowboard gear, if the latest on-hill fashions get you stoked, or if you work in retail but want the lifestyle that goes with a resort community, this position might be for you. Retail supervisors oversee a variety of retail outlets at most resorts, from hard goods shops to grocery outlets.
Responsibilities
- Make sure every guest is taken care of in a manner that exceeds their expectations
- Hire, train, coach and schedule staff who are customer oriented
- Maintain store inventory levels and assist in the development of purchase plans that co-ordinate successfully with fiscal sales projections
- Merchandise products in a way that optimizes sales
- Account for all security issues involving cash, theft, liability and premises
- Operate a computer POS system and all related procedures
- Perform regular staff evaluations and hold regular staff meetings
- Create a positive and optimistic work environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum 2 years retail experience
- Excellent communication, organization and administrative skills
- Computer knowledge
- Self-motivated, guest oriented and able to work under pressure
- Previous supervisory experience an asset
