If you get pumped about the latest in ski and snowboard gear, if the latest on-hill fashions get you stoked, or if you work in retail but want the lifestyle that goes with a resort community, this position might be for you. Retail supervisors oversee a variety of retail outlets at most resorts, from hard goods shops to grocery outlets.

Responsibilities

  • Make sure every guest is taken care of in a manner that exceeds their expectations
  • Hire, train, coach and schedule staff who are customer oriented
  • Maintain store inventory levels and assist in the development of purchase plans that co-ordinate successfully with fiscal sales projections
  • Merchandise products in a way that optimizes sales
  • Account for all security issues involving cash, theft, liability and premises
  • Operate a computer POS system and all related procedures
  • Perform regular staff evaluations and hold regular staff meetings
  • Create a positive and optimistic work environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years retail experience
  • Excellent communication, organization and administrative skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • Self-motivated, guest oriented and able to work under pressure
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset
