About Us
The Britannia Mine Museum was established in 1971 to preserve the material and social history of mining in British Columbia, and to educate the public about mining. The Britannia Mine Museum Society is the governing body of the Museum. As a registered charity, the society is self-sufficient in its ability to earn revenues to maintain its operation. These include gift shop sales, admissions, donations and the sale of memberships.
Our vision: To provide unique, entertaining, and memorable educational experiences that engage visitors of all ages in the spirited history of Britannia, highlighting the role of the Canadian mining industry in the past while focusing on its commitment and leadership in creating a sustainable future.
