Part 1 – Understanding the Changes & Conducting an Assessment
In this webinar, go2HR and WorkSafeBC provided an overview of the recent changes to provincial workplace first aid regulatory requirements, focusing on the tourism and hospitality industry. The session included details on new requirements for written assessments, procedural updates, and first aid kit standards, followed by a mock first aid assessment to help employers evaluate their operations.
Part 2 – Understanding Procedural Considerations and Industry Best Practices
In this webinar, we reviewed what to include in workplace first aid procedures, focusing on new mandatory requirements. Additionally, the webinar introduced the benefits of implementing industry best practices such as how guest and worker first aid differ, and the integration of Critical Incident Response and Return-to-Work Programs.
Part 3 – Understanding Drills & Best Practices for Staff Training
In this webinar, we provided an in-depth overview of the new annual first aid drill requirements and guidance on how to effectively prepare your teams for success through onboarding and training. The session included step-by-step guidance on building an effective first aid drill to test procedures against site-specific requirements and challenges, and examples for a variety of sectors in the Tourism & Hospitality Industry.
