Job Description

Tiicma Hospitality is recruiting an Assistant Manager for the Fair Harbour Marina & Campground operation. The successful applicant will work with the current manager to transition into the Assistant Manager role. Reporting to the Tiicma Hospitality General Manager

Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Fair Harbour, BC – additional travel will be required

Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Perform opening store procedures; make coffee, turn on slushy machine, prepare hot dogs, stock service counter, coolers, and shelves with product
• Greet guests and inquire how you can help
• Operate the POS, sell products, and process payments
• Merchandise store, put away stock, organize storage areas
• Check in guests for camping and cabins – look up reservation and direct guests to their campsites or cabins and provide facility information upon arrival
• Operate reservation system to take campsite & cabin reservations
• Preform closing store procedures; turn off and clean – coffee maker, slushy machine and hot dog machine, sweep & mop the floors, and lock up
• Assist with inventory and data entry
• Clean public washroom and laundry facilities
• Pick online store order, organize delivery, and collect payment
• Service the cabins by changing bed linens, cleaning kitchens & bathrooms, dusting, vacuum & mop floors, wash and fold laundry

Once competency has been demonstrated for the day-to-day operations training of the following will be determined and discusses:
• Apply accounts receivable payments
• Follow up with account receivable charges
• Monitor inventory levels, create product orders and organize delivery logistics
• Learn and complete cashout
• Staff scheduling and timesheet review
• Assign tasks to staff
• Coordinate service and repairs for vehicles and equipment
• Participate in budget and operating plan development
• Training on the infrastructure systems (water, septic, electrical, fuel pumps)
• Look for opportunities to improve the operation
• Assist with other projects as required

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Minimum age of 19 year or older
• Must have a valid class 5 driver licence
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow and maintain standards 
• Strong interest in learning and advancing in the organisation
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Committed to delivering an outstanding customer service
• Able to problem solve and think critically
• Experienced in handling cash
• Basic understanding of accounting
• Proven ability to affectively communicate in a friendly, professional, and assertive manner
• Proficient in computer operation and Microsoft Office
• Experience in tourism and hospitality an asset
• Experience in housekeeping
• Physical requirements include the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, walk up steep incline and lift up to 40 lbs

Salary/Wage

55,000 -60,000/year
