Job Description
Roma Nord Bistro, located in Kelowna’s Rotary Centre for the Arts, brings fresh, authentic Italian cuisine to the heart of Kelowna’s Cultural District. We serve a range of classic Italian appetizers, main dishes and mouth-watering desserts and coffees inspired by the relaxed, outdoor piazzas of Rome and built on decades of culinary experience; the Roma Nord Bistro is a chic destination on the Kelowna culinary scene.
We are looking for an experienced front of house assistant manager to join our amazing team. We pride ourselves on our great Italian food, excellent atmosphere and great work culture.
The position is full-time (40 hours per week). Must be able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as necessary.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities and duties:
• Analyze and develop budgets for costs (food, ingredients, supplies)
• Track inventory, sales, and wastage
• Prepare cost estimates and reports
• Organize and schedule staff work shifts
• Train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance
• Hire new staff and manage training
• Oversee daily operations and ensure quality service
• Handle customer complaints and ensure satisfaction
• Maintain inventory and ensure food meets quality standards
• Negotiate with suppliers for food and supplies
• Coordinate with clients for catering or events
• Plan and supervise restaurant, bar, or cafeteria operations
• Ensure health and safety standards are met
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience as a restaurant supervisor or assistant manager
• Completion of high school or equivalent
• Food Safe Level 1 Certification required.
• Serving It Right Certification required.
• Experience supervising and managing a team of restaurant service staff.
• English is required and able to communicate well with others.
• Well organized, shows sense of urgency and able to track multiple orders and multitask.
• Works well under pressure.
• Experience preparing Mediterranean culinary dishes.
Salary/Wage
35.00/hour
