Job Description

SKY Hangar is seeking a dedicated Assistant Venue Manager to oversee the operations of our venue, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and smooth event execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the events/hospitality industries, management, and customer service.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
SKY Hangar is seeking a professional and reliable individual to join our growing venue and events management team. As a part of our events management team, you will be responsible for working alongside our Venue and Events Manager in running day-to-day department operations. Tasks will be delegated to you and include items such as:

Manage all aspects of venue operations including staff supervision, event coordination, and customer relations alongside our Venue & Events Manager

Ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction

Coordinate with vendors, caterers, and event planners for venue related items to execute successful events

Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment/the building

Train and mentor staff to uphold service standards and enhance team performance

Handle scheduling, payroll, and client management

Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally

Liaising with SKY Helicopters for client flights, airside access, building maintenance items and so on

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Previous experience in the events/hospitality, management, administrative or related fields is preferred

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team

Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers and staff

Proficiency in cash handling procedures and financial accountability

Understanding and ability to use basic excel spreadsheets, scheduling/communication apps, outlook, data logs, client files, canva, google drive etc.

Ability to work within a face paced environment, while “thinking on your feet” in a calm and confident manner

Self-starter mentality; taking action as needed and anticipating items prior to being requested/needed

Detail oriented focus with exceptional organizational skills

Must have the ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time

Must be able to list up to 50 lbs safely on your own

Must have access to reliable transportation

Previous experiences within event and/or management roles is an asset, but not required

Must successfully pass a criminal background check

Salary/Wage

24.00/hr

Other Perks/Benefits

HOURS, COMPENSATION, BENEFITS PACKAGE & VACATION Wednesday-Sunday from ~9:00am-3:00pm weekly, OR 30-hours per week. It is expected that this schedule may have slight changes depending on the event and rental schedule. For example, work late on Saturday in lieu of Wednesday or start 7am-1pm etc. where applicable. All work days include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. This is an hourly-based position compensated at $24.00CAD per hour. Annual vacation entitlement is granted in accordance with the Canada Labour Code (two weeks per year, beginning in your second year of employment). Enrolment in our group extended benefit plan is a mandatory condition of employment. Benefits will commence after 6 months of employment.
