Job Description

In preparation for a busy season of functions, Hotel Grand Pacific is seeking Banquet Servers to join our team.
An independent luxury property located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour, we pride ourselves on creating an exceptional experience for our guests whatever the occasion. With a total 10,000 square feet of banquet space in our property, we host a range of events including weddings, Christmas parties, small business meetings, and large conferences.

Chosen candidates can expect to work 15-29 hours per week. Weekend availability is required!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Executing daily work assignments in accordance with the Banquet Event Order (BEO)
• Working as part of team to set up and reset rooms for all types of functions
• Monitoring quality of food & beverage products before service and coordinating with the Kitchen to ensure adequate supply
• Providing a mixture of buffet and table service
• Ensuring excellent guest service by observing the room, anticipating guest needs, and answering questions.

What We’re Looking For:
• At least 1 year of serving experience
• Exposure to event work (weddings, parties, etc.) either as a server or catering setup
• Food Safe and Serving It Right certifications
• Comfortable with physical work and able to safely lift/push/pull 30 pounds without exertion
• Observant, organized and attentive to detail, with a high level of initiative
• Friendly team player with positive and effective communication skills
• Professional and accountable, with a high level of integrity
• Flexible availability and comfortable with late finishes
• Must be available to work weekends
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in BC
• Bartending experience is an asset
• Able to maintain high standards of personal presentation
